The 2014 Chianti Classico comes from La Querce Seconda’s pristine organic fruit that grows on galestro soils of loose marl and limestone in San Casciano Val di Pesa. Hand harvested at about 2.5 tons per hectare, the wine is left to ferment in stainless steel before it is moved to 10-year-old, 2000-liter French oak tonneau. This is 100% Sangiovese from vines up to 45 years old and all estate bottled. This is more classically structured than the basic Chianti with remarkable depth of flavor and structure. Bottled with only 40mg of SO2.
